BibleConsciousness

Five Building Blocks – Part 4

BUILDING BLOCK #4: GOD’S CONSCIOUSNESS IS YOUR CONSCIOUSNESS

Now it’s really starting to get good!

The data below was first pointed out at Oak Ridge Lab by Dr. Paul C. Aebersold in 1953 in a landmark paper he presented to the Smithsonian Institute, “Radioisotopes – New keys to knowledge”:

98 percent of all the atoms in a person’s body change out every year, and that within five years all the atoms had changed. Other larger organs’ atomic replacement can be estimated:

• The lining in stomach and intestine every 4 days
• The Gums are replaced every 2 weeks
• The Skin replaced every 4 weeks
• The Liver replaced every 6 weeks
• The Lining of blood vessels replaced every 6 months
• The Heart replaced every 6 months
• The Surface cells of digestion, top layer cells in the digestion process from our mouth through our large bowel are replaced every 5 minutes

This is taking the word “renewal” to a whole new level!

This gives a ton of authority to the argument for the eternal part of us that we call our spirit. If our body is completely replaced every five years, then who are we? I would think this should be a major roadblock for naturalistic and evolutionary scientists who demand that there is no eternal part of us, no soul or spirit, no “ghost in the machine.” But the fact is, your consciousness is the eternal part of you. We also call it your soul or spirit, depending on the context of the conversation.

It is commonly accepted that the soul is the mental and emotional part of us. I agree with this interpretation. So then our spirit is the eternal part of us that is one with Christ if we have been made new by Him. So from a Biblical perspective, although every single atomic particle in your body is being exchanged every five years, yet you continue to exist as an independent, identifiable human being. This alone shoots evolution and naturalistic science down in flames.

So there is this eternal realm which I allude to in the subtitle of my book “Dissolving the barrier between the seen and the unseen.” This unseen realm is the realm in which your spirit lives, communing moment by moment in an intimate relationship with God. 2 Corinthians 4:16 says “Although our bodies may be decaying, our spirits are being renewed every day.”

But wait! If you’re paying attention, you might be asking yourself right now “I thought you said that our bodies are remade very five years! But here you just quoted a Bible verse that says it’s decaying!” That’s right! And that’s because of the second law of thermodynamics. This is a foundational physical law that all the sciences are governed by.

This law states that energy must always be transformed from a more usable state to a less usable state. Or, in other words, energy in a closed system is always lost and can never be re-created. Or to put it another way, entropy is always increasing in the universe. OK, Jim, tell us in practical terms what you’re talking about!

OK, entropy by definition is the “lack of order or predictability; gradual decline into disorder.” Your body is continually being renewed on an atomic level, but entropy demands that it is an imperfect process, and must always go from more orderly to less orderly, from better to worse, from organization to disorganization, or, from young and fresh to old and worn out. This is what causes aging in human beings and also in every inanimate object in the universe.

I believe that entropy is the result of the fall of man. Sin introduced into a perfect system the inefficiencies of entropy so that mankind can no longer live forever. Romans 8:20-21 says “The creation was subjected to futility…in hope that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.” I believe that this futility and corruption in the creation was the result of man’s sin, and that some day it will once again be made perfect. That’s how we will live forever! In heaven there is no entropy, no inefficiency, no “gradual decline into disorder.”

Let’s dive down an interesting rabbit hole for a second. When Adam and Eve were ejected from the garden, God placed two angels to guard access to the tree of life. Why? The Bible tells us in Genesis 3:22-24:

Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever” – therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken. So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life.

Think about what’s happening here. Sin did not remove immortality from humankind like so many Christian teachers believe. It is true that the consequence of sin was mortality and a limited life span, but Adam and Eve had been eating of the tree of life which had been making them immortal. But now access was blocked so they could no longer live forever. This is huge. Revelation 22:!4 says “Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city.” Apparently, the tree of life is also our means of eternal life once we enter heaven. More on that in my next book.

So we’ve established this fact: on the spirit level, we are, basically, supernatural beings. We are “super” – which means above or beyond – “natural.” There is a natural part of us, and there is a part of us that lives beyond natural limitations. What does the Bible say about this?

(1 Cor. 2:16) “We have the mind of Christ.”
(1 John 4:17) “As He [Jesus] is, so also are we in this world.”
(Ephesians 4:22-23) “We are renewed in the spirit of our minds, so that our new self is created in the very likeness of God Himself, in righteousness and holiness.”

This Greek word for “renewed” means that we have been made new. It’s like we are refreshed every day, it’s like every single morning we have been remade, brand new, just like Jesus in His thoughts actions and mannerisms. God has seen fit to give us the mind of Christ. Think about that for a moment:

YOU have the mind of Christ!

YOU have it. Right now. That is, if you’ve given your life to Him.

YOU have the mind of Christ. And Jesus says in John 15:15 “All things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.”

YOU have all the power of God’s mind and spirit at your disposal. Your spirit man is 100% Holy Spirit. Romans 6:5 says we have become one with Christ. This word “one” is literally “congenital” which means a trait as intimate as if you’ve had it since birth. My brown eyes are a congenital trait. It’s part of who I am at my core. And the Bible says that being one with Christ is a congenital condition, in other words, it’s like you were born Christ. He is part of you. You are part of Him. It (and He) are in your DNA. And as we’ve already read from 1 Cor. 2:16, we have his mind as well!

1 Corinthians 6:16 says “The one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him.”

This is amazing!

What we’re identifying here finally is the fourth Building Block: God’s consciousness is the same as yours!

In your spirit man, you are 100% Holy Spirit. You think like Him, you have all the wisdom and resources of Jesus Christ Himself, you have all that power and authority. You may disagree, but it’s scripturally true. But just because all of that dwells in your spirit man, doesn’t mean it automatically manifests itself in the physical. We often have difficulty bringing these promised resources into physical manifestation.

We are triune beings, right? The Bible teaches us that we are body, soul and spirit, and on our spirit level we are united, at one with, a single entity with God because we are promised the unity of the Spirit. In this sense, we are not only figuratively but also very literally filled with the mind of God Himself, which means our consciousness, on our spirit level deep within us, is the same as God’s consciousness. This is an all-penetrating, all-permeating consciousness that can not only see cancer inside someone’s body, that can not only see the emotional pain of someone who has been seriously rejected or hurt, that can not only see the anger or danger or harm that the enemy wants to inflict on someone, but can also be so intimately tied into the stream of God’s heart and mind – His consciousness – that we can speak to that cancer, that hurt, that harm, that danger, that demon, and command it to be healed and gone in the name of Jesus Christ.

I really believe that God wants to bring each of us individually to the point where we don’t necessarily need to seek His will for every little thing that comes along because we know His heart well enough that we can act instinctively according to His will, His heart, and His purpose for us. Wouldn’t that be just like Him? To invite us in so close that we know His heart and can speak for Him spontaneously without having to groan and travail at every little circumstance that comes into our lives? He’s given us the authority after all. It’s not like we have to ask His permission to heal someone. He commanded us to do it, and he gave us the authority and the power! And he tells “Just go, heal people! Pray for people! Prophesy over people! Cast out demons! Freely you have received, so freely give!”

So we have the mind of Christ. Which means our consciousness is melded with His on a very deep and intimate level.

Therefore:
#1 Matter is energy.
#2 Matter/energy and consciousness co-create each other
#3 God’s consciousness permeates all of the universe
and
#4 God’s consciousness is your consciousness

So, what next? What does all this mean? Let’s discuss the power of consciousness to change the world around you.
